Regions Financial Corp. has integrated the heads of its geographic divisions into the businesses of consumer banking, corporate banking and wealth management and converted its existing field structure into one team.
President John Turner Jr. passes the title of corporate banking head on to Ronnie Smith, who was previously mid-America regional president. Smith will report to Turner.
Turner will also continue to oversee strategic planning and M&A, corporate responsibility and the wealth management division, which will be led by Bill Ritter.
John Owen now heads enterprise services and consumer banking, and he has oversight of information technology, corporate real estate and procurement, corporate marketing, and digital banking. Owen was previously regional banking group head.
The Birmingham, Ala.-based company also has a new unit: corporate responsibility and community engagement. The functions of community affairs and charitable giving, government affairs and economic development, and fair and responsible banking will be consolidated under the new office. Keith Herron leads it; he was previously the company's South regional president.
