BH Co. Ltd. swings to loss in Q1

BH Co. Ltd. said its first-quarter normalized net income was a loss of 46.35 South Korean won per share, compared with 94.64 won per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of 1.30 billion won, compared with income of 2.66 billion won in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to negative 1.2% from 3.2% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 32.3% year over year to 110.47 billion won from 83.50 billion won, and total operating expenses grew 41.1% from the prior-year period to 112.18 billion won from 79.50 billion won.

Reported net income came to a loss of 1.55 billion won, or a loss of 55.13 won per share, compared to income of 4.89 billion won, or 174.14 won per share, in the prior-year period.

As of May 16, US$1 was equivalent to 1,177.43 South Korean won.
