Airbus set to make more than 700 aircraft deliveries in 2017

Airbus Group SE COO and President Fabrice Bregier said the company expects to achieve a production record by delivering more than 700 aircraft in 2017, despite delays in deliveries of engines from suppliers, Reuters reported Dec. 4.

The report was based on Bregier's interview with Les Echos newspaper.

Bregier said slightly fewer than 600 aircraft had been delivered by the end of November. This means Airbus needs to replicate efforts made in December 2016 to achieve the target deliveries "but we're prepared for that," he said.

He added that "the technical problems on the new A320 engines are now solved" and hopes that production will ramp up as planned in 2018, Reuters reported.

When asked about the rumored departure of Airbus CEO Tom Enders, Bregier said: "Let's leave the board to take decisions."

Enders is facing an internal probe on inaccuracies in filings with U.S. regulators related to arms technology sales, said Reuters.
