Report: 2 South Korean banks allegedly created illegal hiring lists

South Korea's KEB Hana Bank and KB Kookmin Bank are suspected of creating hiring lists to give preferential treatment to candidates linked to influential figures, Yonhap News Agency reported Feb. 4, citing sources.

This was one of the complaints allegedly filed by the country's Financial Supervisory Service to state prosecution.

KEB Hana Bank had 55 names on its list while KB Kookmin Bank had 20, the publication noted, with some names related to the lenders' current and former senior officials.

All of these candidates reportedly passed initial screening processes in 2015 and 2016.
