Report: Equity Commonwealth to sell Chicago office asset for $143M

Equity Commonwealth is nearing a deal to sell its Triangle Plaza complex in Chicago to Honolulu-based Shidler Group for about $143 million, Crain's Chicago Business reported, citing sources familiar with the deal.

Triangle Plaza, which comprises two 14-story buildings, is the only office property currently owned by the company in Chicago, the report said.

The office-focused real estate investment trust purchased the complex at 8750 and 8770 W. Bryn Mawr Ave. in 2010 for $96 million.

CBRE is representing the seller in the sale, the report noted.
