Bill allowing out-of-state insurers to sell plans in Idaho moves to Senate floor

An Idaho Senate committee voted unanimously to advance a bill to the chamber's floor that would allow health insurers from other states to sell their plans in the Gem State, the Associated Press reported.

If passed by the Senate, the bill would still need to earn approval by the state House and be signed by the governor to take effect.

Sen. Dan Foreman, a Republican, said his bill will offer residents more healthcare options and bring costs down.
