American Water Works announces executive changes at the company, subsidiaries

American Water Works Co. Inc. announced executive changes, including naming Deborah Degillio as chief customer officer, which will be effective on March 25.

Degillio is currently the senior vice president of American Water's eastern division and president of New Jersey American Water, according to a March 13 news release. Cheryl Norton, the current president of Missouri American Water, will succeed Degillio in those roles.

Debbie Dewey has been appointed to take over Norton's current role as president of Missouri American Water. Dewey currently serves as president of Indiana American Water Co. Inc. and Michigan American Water.

Matthew Prine, who joined Indiana American Water in 2014 as director of government affairs, will succeed Dewey as president of Indiana American Water and Michigan American Water.

Also, Kevin Kirwan was named chief environmental officer for American Water. He has been with the company in various roles over 34 years.

New Jersey American Water provides water and/or wastewater services to approximately 2.7 million people, while Missouri American Water provides the same services to approximately 1.5 million people. Indiana American Water also provides similar services to approximately 1.3 million people, while Michigan American Water provides water services to approximately 12,000 people.
