Coronado suspends Curragh coal mine ops after Thiess employee death

Coronado Global Resources Inc. suspended its operations at its Curragh coal mine in Queensland, Australia, following the accidental death of a Thiess Pty. Ltd. employee at the site.

The operations will remain suspended pending permit from investigators to resume.

Coronado awarded a six-year A$1.3 billion contract to CIMIC Group Ltd.'s global mining services provider Thiess for mining services at the Curragh northern coal operations in September 2019.
