Cox expands 1 TB data cap to more markets

Cox Communications Inc. is extending its 1 TB data cap to Connecticut; Omaha, Neb.; Arkansas; Kansas; and Sun Valley, Idaho, according to an update on the company's website.

The company ran an initial trial of data capping in Cleveland, later expanding the cap to Florida and Georgia. Customers located in these areas will get additional 50 GB blocks of data for $10 each if they exceed their data plans, as per the Jan. 24 update.

The speed of the internet service will not be affected if users exceed their data plans.
