Taisei Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 amounted to ¥53.22 per share, an increase of 13.7% from ¥46.80 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥12.12 billion, an increase of 13.7% from ¥10.66 billion in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 3.2% from 3.1% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue increased 8.8% on an annual basis to ¥376.33 billion from ¥345.83 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 9.5% year over year to ¥358.72 billion from ¥327.70 billion.
Reported net income increased 23.9% year over year to ¥11.85 billion, or ¥52.02 per share, from ¥9.56 billion, or ¥41.98 per share.
As of Nov. 12, US$1 was equivalent to ¥115.15.
