4914047 said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 was 34 Indian paise per share, an increase from 15 paise per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 82.5 million rupees, a gain from 30.6 million rupees in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 1.4% from 0.6% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue declined on an annual basis to 5.26 billion rupees from 5.50 billion rupees, and total operating expenses fell 9.4% on an annual basis to 4.65 billion rupees from 5.13 billion rupees.

Reported net income increased from the prior-year period to 186.8 million rupees, or 76 paise per share, from 50.9 million rupees, or 25 paise per share.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 1.26 rupees per share, compared with a loss of 1.78 rupees per share in the prior year.

Normalized net income was 307.1 million rupees, compared with a loss of 432.8 million rupees in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue fell from the prior-year period to 20.99 billion rupees from 21.40 billion rupees, and total operating expenses declined 5.9% on an annual basis to 18.82 billion rupees from 20.00 billion rupees.

The company said reported net income came to 420.2 million rupees, or 1.73 rupees per share, in the full year, compared with a loss of 467.8 million rupees, or a loss of 1.92 rupees per share, the prior year.
