Brown Brothers Harriman hires 2 for private banking biz

Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. named Suzanne Brenner managing director and chief investment officer of its private banking business.

Brenner joins Brown Brothers Harriman from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where she had been chief investment officer of the endowment fund. In her new role, she will lead the private banking investment research group.

The company also named Donald Hardie managing director and portfolio manager in the capital partners private equity investment team. Hardie will co-manage, with Jeff Price, a strategy to provide customized investments to lower-middle-market companies.

Hardie joins from a Greenwich, Conn.-based single family office, where he was a partner.
