Comcast Corp.is continuing to test its ability to launch wireless services via a mobilevirtual network operator agreementthat allows the cable operator to use VerizonCommunications Inc.'s network, WirelessWeek.com reported July 14,citing a company representative.
The representative did not offer any further details on whenComcast might launch wireless services,reportedly saying the company will "continue to evaluate the space."
Comcast executives in October 2015 acknowledged that thecompany was testing the possible launch of a wireless offering via Verizon's networkbut declined to say whether it would launch in 2016. At the time, Comcast CEOBrian Roberts said that it takes roughly six months of testing and trials toreach an activation point for an MVNO.
Multichannel Newson July 13 reported that Comcast had overhauledits technology and operations management to increase its focus on ramping upfor a wireless offering.
