FERC staff gives thumbs up to NextEra line linked to Southeast Market Pipelines

Federal Energy Regulatory Commission staff said a NextEra Energy Inc. subsidiary's lateral project designed to deliver up to 400,000 Dth/d of natural gas to a power plant in Florida would not have serious environmental impacts.

In a March 16 environmental assessment, staff in the commission's Office of Energy Projects found that, with recommended mitigation measures, FERC approval of the project would not be a major federal action that would significantly affect the quality of the environment.
