Polish soccer league Ekstraklasa rolls out global OTT service

Polish soccer league Ekstraklasa launched its own over-the-top streaming platform called Ekstraklasa.tv, Digital TV Europe reported.

The new service targets Polish soccer fans worldwide, including in markets where Ekstraklasa rights are not exclusively licensed.

Ekstraklasa.tv will offer live coverage of soccer games with Polish-language commentary, as well as game summaries and clips, news and other related content. Viewers will be able to search for content by club and player name.

The platform offers a one-month free trial, after which individual matches can be viewed on a pay-per-view basis at €2.99. A monthly subscription costs €6.99, while a season pass is worth €49.99.

Ekstraklasa.tv is initially available via its own website and as a mobile app on iOS devices, with Android to follow. It is also compatible with Alphabet Inc.-owned Google LLC's Chromecast and Apple Inc.'s Airplay.

Ekstraklasa plans to integrate Ekstraklasa.tv on smart TV and Apple TV devices, as well as launch an English-language version of the OTT service in the near future, according to the report.
