Nan Ya Plastics Q1 profit climbs 100.9% YOY

Nan Ya Plastics Corp. said its normalized net income for the first quarter came to NT$1.02 per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of NT$1.00 per share.

EPS increased 100.9% year over year from 51 cents.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was NT$8.10 billion, an increase of 100.9% from NT$4.03 billion in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 11.1% from 6.2% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 11.0% on an annual basis to NT$72.68 billion from NT$65.47 billion, and total operating expenses increased on an annual basis to NT$64.20 billion from NT$62.02 billion.

Reported net income increased 102.4% year over year to NT$10.87 billion, or NT$1.37 per share, from NT$5.37 billion, or 68 cents per share.

As of May 15, US$1 was equivalent to NT$30.14.
