Comcast, FX launching new TV service

Comcast Corp. and 21st Century Fox Inc.'s FX Networks teamed up for a new television service, called FX+.

Set to go live Sept. 5, the new service will let Xfinity TV subscribers upgrade to a platform featuring commercial-free current seasons of every FX Network (US) and FXX (US) original series and seasons of current and legacy library titles of FX originals, the company said Aug. 7.

Xfinity TV customers can add the new service to their video package for $5.99 per month.

With more than 1,100 episodes of original programming to be featured, FX+ will roll out the content over a period of time and the complete content lineup is expected to become available in 2018.

FX+ subscribers will be able to access the FX+ content via Xfinity On Demand, the Xfinity Stream app and website and FXNOW. FX+ will also offer select series in 4K and temporary downloads of current season episodes in the future.
