ArcelorMittal closes US$750M notes buyback

ArcelorMittal said Sept. 5 that it accepted for repurchase all the notes tendered after the early tender date, under its previously announced offer to buy back up to US$750 million of notes due 2039 and 2041.

The company received valid tenders for around US$3.5 million of the 7.000% notes due 2039, and US$188,000 of the 6.750% notes due 2041.

By the early tender date of Aug. 20, the company accepted for repurchase US$428.3 million of the notes due 2039, while the principal amount accepted was US$194.4 million for the 2041 notes.

Citigroup Global Markets Ltd., Credit Agricole Securities (USA) Inc., J.P. Morgan Securities LLC and Merrill Lynch International acted as dealer managers for the offers, with D.F. King acting as the information and tender agent.

The tender offers expired Sept. 4.
