Charter names chief technology officer; NTN Buzztime CEO resigns

S&P Global Market Intelligence presents a rundown of executive changes in the U.S. technology, media and telecommunications industries.

* Accelerize Inc. named Frank Lane an executive officer of the company. Lane joined Accelerize as president of CFN Media in June following the company's acquisition of the CFN Media assets from Emerging Growth LLC, the company disclosed in an SEC filing. Lane founded CFN Media in 2013.

* Apple Inc. Vice President of Communications Steve Dowling is leaving after 16 years with the company, the executive said in a memo to staff. Dowling, who headed the company's communications for the last five years, will stay at Apple until the end of October, according to the memo, shared by Recode. Phil Schiller, who heads marketing for the company, will take over for Dowling in the interim. Dowling previously was head of corporate public relations for 10 years.

* Match Group Inc. named Thomas Gaissmaier chief human resources officer, effective Sept. 30. Gaissmaier will lead the company's global human resources functions, including talent efforts, company culture, diversity and inclusion strategy. Gaissmaier most recently was executive vice president and chief human resources officer at The Walt Disney Co.'s 21st Century Fox Inc.

* Ram Krishnan resigned as CEO of NTN Buzztime Inc., effective Sept. 17. Krishnan will serve as an adviser through Oct. 17. CFO Allen Wolff became interim CEO, effective Sept. 17. In addition, the company promoted Sandra Gurrola to senior vice president of finance to assume some of Wolff's prior responsibilities as CFO. Gurrola will oversee all aspects of accounting and financial reporting, including SEC reporting.

* Charter Communications Inc. named Stephanie Mitchko executive vice president and chief technology officer. Mitchko will oversee the company's network, mobile, video and software engineering teams. Mitchko most recently was joint chief technology officer and COO of Cadent. The company also appointed Cameron Blanchard senior vice president of communications. Blanchard will be chief media relations spokesperson and strategist, manage the day-to-day media relations function enterprisewide and oversee strategic external communication. Blanchard previously was chief communications officer at Conde Nast Entertainment LLC.

* Paula Pyers, head of supplier responsibility at Apple, went on a leave of absence, The Information reported Sept. 17, citing an internal memo. Pyers has headed the iPhone-maker's supplier-responsibility team since 2015 after holding senior roles in supplier security and hardware engineering.

* Matt Bell left as chief technology officer of WideOpenWest Inc., also known as WOW! Internet, Cable & Phone. The company will name a new technology chief responsible for network operations and engineering. Additionally, the company promoted Senior Vice President Bill Case to chief information officer responsible for the company's approach to technology, IT and the project management office.

* Triton Digital Inc. appointed Daryl Battaglia senior vice president of market development and strategy, audience research, the company said. Battaglia joins Tritan from Nielsen Holdings PLC, where he spent 22 years in various positions, including in the company's Media Analytics business.

* Entravision Communications Corp. named Erin Voden senior vice president of integrated marketing solutions for its Washington, D.C., market. Voden will oversee and manage sales at Entravision's television and digital media properties serving the Washington market. She most recently was sales director with NBC Telemundo in Washington, D.C. Entravision also named Robert McCauley senior vice president of integrated marketing solutions for the company's television, radio and digital media properties serving the Palm Springs, Calif., market. McCauley most recently was director of corporate partnerships for the MLB's Los Angeles Angels.

* Fusion Risk Management Inc. named Michael Campbell CEO after securing growth capital investment from Vista Equity Partners LLC. Campbell most recently was CEO at International Decision Systems Inc. As part of the executive team expansion, founder David Nolan will become strategic adviser and support product strategy, customer success, corporate development and company culture.

* Unisys Corp. appointed Mike Thomson permanent CFO of the company. Thomson, interim CFO since April, joined the company in December 2015 as corporate controller and principal accounting officer.

* Seth Gardner, named COO of MDC Partners Inc. in May, left the company, effective Sept. 9. MDC Partners said it eliminated the position of COO.

* WarnerMedia's Rooster Teeth Productions LLC is laying off 13% of its workforce, or about 50 employees, Rooster Teeth CEO Matt Hullum said in a memo to staff posted by Variety. Hullum said the layoffs were not "reflective of anyone's individual performance" but were needed to achieve future growth targets. The layoffs affected the company's content production, advertising, distribution and e-commerce areas. A representative said events staff were not let go. WarnerMedia is a unit of AT&T Inc.
