Telecom Digital fiscal Q3 profit climbs 19.4% YOY

Telecom Digital Holdings Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2015, was 3 Hong Kong cents per share, a gain of 19.4% from 3 cents per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was HK$13.9 million, a gain of 19.4% from HK$11.6 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 3.5% from 2.8% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue decreased on an annual basis to HK$401.6 million from HK$412.4 million, and total operating expenses fell year over year to HK$388.4 million from HK$402.8 million.

Reported net income grew 6.1% from the prior-year period to HK$19.6 million, or 5 cents per share, from HK$18.5 million, or 5 cents per share.
