American Eagle Outfitters to exit Singapore

American Eagle Outfitters Inc. is set to exit the Singapore market Feb. 28, The Straits Times reported Feb. 23.

The American fashion retailer has two stores in the city-state. Its flagship store, which is in the VivoCity shopping mall, reportedly closed Feb. 21. The staff at its other store at Suntec City shopping complex confirmed that the outlet will close Feb. 28, the publication added.

American Eagle Outfitters entered the Singapore market in 2015 under local firm Star 360 Holdings Pte Ltd.

The news comes after the announcement that other U.S. apparel brands Gap Inc. and Banana Republic also are set to exit the city-state by the end of February.
