Meredith CFO to retire; Disney appoints EMEA president

S&P Global Market Intelligence presents a rundown of executive changes in the U.S. technology, media and telecommunications industries.

* Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. extended CFO James Barge's employment contract for a four-year period. The new agreement, which has been approved by the compensation committee of the board, ends July 31, 2023. Barge was appointed CFO in 2013.

* Barbara Wall is no longer the interim COO of Gannett Co. Inc. Wall, who was appointed interim COO in March, will remain with the company in her capacity as senior vice president and chief legal officer.

* Meredith Corp. CFO Joe Ceryanec is retiring from the company. Ceryanec will stay in his role for a transition period through early 2020 while the company looks for a replacement. Ceryanec joined Meredith in October 2008.

* DXC Technology Co. appointed Mary Finch executive vice president and chief human resources officer. In this role, Finch will lead all aspects of DXC human resources and employee engagement globally. Most recently, Finch was chief human resources officer at AECOM.

* The Walt Disney Co. appointed Jan Koeppen as president of the company's Europe, Middle East and Africa operations, effective Nov. 11. Koeppen succeeds Rebecca Campbell, who has been named Disneyland Resort president. He will be in charge of the company's direct-to-consumer, networks, media distribution and motion picture businesses, among operations across EMEA. Koeppen was previously the president of Fox Networks Group Inc.'s European and African operations.

* Intel Corp. appointed Karen Walker senior vice president and chief marketing officer, effective Oct. 23. She will report to Michelle Johnston Holthaus, executive vice president and general manager of Intel's sales, marketing and communications group. Prior to joining Intel, Walker was chief marketing officer of Cisco Systems Inc.

* Apple Inc. hired AstraZeneca PLC Chief Information Officer David Smoley as vice president, Bloomberg News reported Sept. 28. Apple confirmed the move, while AstraZeneca declined to comment, the newswire added. Smoley will reportedly work in an IT role and will not be focused on Apple's healthcare efforts.
