General Dynamics Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended July 5 amounted to $2.00 per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of $2.05 per share.
EPS increased 18.6% year over year from $1.69.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $663.1 million, a gain of 14.7% from $578.1 million in the second quarter ended June 29, 2014.
The normalized profit margin increased to 8.4% from 7.7% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue rose 5.5% year over year to $7.88 billion from $7.47 billion, and total operating expenses increased year over year to $6.80 billion from $6.53 billion.
Reported net income grew 16.7% on an annual basis to $752.3 million, or $2.27 per share, from $644.4 million, or $1.88 per share.
