Altitude Sports loses more distribution ground amid pricing, reach issues

Altitude Sports & Entertainment (US)'s distribution woes grew higher over the Labor Day weekend. The regional sports network, home to the National Basketball Association's Denver Nuggets and the National Hockey League's Colorado Avalanche, did not reach new carriage agreements with Comcast Corp. or AT&T Inc.'s DIRECTV by Sept. 1 and is unavailable to those distributors' video subscribers.

Altice USA launches $20-per-month wireless plan, projects profits in 12 months

Altice USA Inc. unveiled a $20-per-month mobile service for customers in its 21-state footprint Sept. 5. Executives said the aggressively priced offering would allow for profitability due in part to the company's blended approach to its mobile virtual network operator agreement with Sprint Corp.

Update: Google fined $170M over alleged violation of children's privacy law

Alphabet Inc.'s Google LLC and its subsidiary YouTube LLC will pay $170 million to settle allegations from the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and the New York attorney general that the companies violated children's online privacy rules. Under the terms of the settlement, Google will pay $136 million to the FTC and $34 million to the state of New York.

FCC chairman calls for Nexstar-Tribune deal approval

The U.S. Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai sought support from fellow officials for the approval of Nexstar Media Group Inc.'s proposed acquisition of Tribune Media Co., Reuters reported, citing a spokeswoman for the U.S. agency.
