Accenture CEO steps down due to 'health reasons'

Pierre Nanterme stepped down as chairman and CEO of Accenture PLC, effective immediately, due to previously announced "health reasons," the company said in a Jan. 11 statement.

Accenture CFO David Rowland will now serve as interim CEO of the consulting and outsourcing services firm. He will also join the board as a director. Marge Magner, the company's lead independent director, was named nonexecutive chair of the board.

KC McClure, currently head of Accenture's finance operations, will replace Rowland as CFO. Nanterme will continue to serve the company as adviser to the CEO, Accenture said.
