Ontario-based Yamana Gold Inc. exceeded its full-year production guidance for all metals in 2018 from continuing operations, with a gold-equivalent output of 1.04 million ounces, compared to 1.01 Moz guided, on the back of strong performance at its Yamana mines.
The company said Jan. 14 that it produced 940,600 ounces of gold, 8 million ounces of silver and 129.0 million pounds of copper, compared to 2017 output of 977,000 ounces of gold, 5 million ounces of silver and 127 million pounds of copper.
Gold-equivalent production in the fourth quarter of 2018 totaled 310,400 ounces, including 270,200 ounces of gold, 3.3 million ounces of silver and 39.0 million pounds of copper. The last quarter of 2017 saw production of 282,041 ounces of gold, 1.17 million ounces of silver and 34.7 million pounds of copper.
The company's Yamana mines include Chapada and Jacobina in Brazil, El Penon in Chile, Canadian Malartic in Quebec and Cerro Moro in Argentina.
