Circle K Norway to install ABB's EV charging stations

Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc.'s Circle K retail chain has signed a contract with automation company ABB Ltd. to install electric vehicle chargers at its convenience stores and fuel stations in Norway, according to a March 7 announcement.

ABB will supply Circle K with Terra High Power, 175-kilowatt EV chargers, in combination with Terra 54 CJG, 50-kilowatt EV chargers. The Terra chargers can be upgraded to deliver 350 kilowatts of power if needed, enough to allow electric cars to travel 200 kilometers in just eight minutes of charging, according to the release.

The chargers, which will be delivered by April, are expected to help Circle K retain its customers, with more of them switching to electric vehicles from gas and diesel cars.
