BridgeTex to expand Permian oil takeaway capacity, looking for firm commitments

BridgeTex Pipeline Company LLC will expand its crude oil pipeline's capacity by 40,000 barrels per day and has launched a supplemental open season for the additional takeaway capacity for Permian Basin supplies to the Houston Gulf Coast area.

BridgeTex, owned jointly by Magellan Midstream Partners LP and Plains All American Pipeline LP, said in a Nov. 30 press release that the new capacity is expected to be available in early 2019, and it is seeking binding commitments. The duo launched an initial open season in July.

The pipeline, which delivers oil from Midland and Colorado City, Texas, to the Houston area, was recently expanded from 300,000 bbl/d to 400,000 bbl/d.

Any interested customers have to submit binding commitments by 5 p.m. CT on Dec. 30. Inquires should go to Brett Hunter of Magellan at 918-574-7477 or brett.hunter@magellanlp.com.
