Amazon filed trademark applications for clothing brands in June, August

Amazon.com Inc. has submitted trademark applications for eight apparel lines in June and August, according to documents filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

The brands include League of Outstanding Kids, Zanie Kids, Common District, Outerwear Index Co., Night Swim, Afterthought, Due East Apparel and Truity.

League of Outstanding Kids, or LOOK, and Zanie Kids will both offer children's garments, while the rest will carry clothing, footwear and outerwear products, among other items.

According to the documents, Common District is now being examined by the trademark office, while the others are still up for review.

The applications hint at new fashion labels that the company is looking to add to its growing list of private-label brands. Earlier this year, the e-commerce giant submitted trademark applications for a number of clothing brands, such as Painted Heart and Mariella Bella, that are now being sold on its platform.

Amazon did not immediately reply to S&P Global Market Intelligence's requests for comment regarding its plans.
