German industrial production rebounds in April

Germany's industrial production recovered in April after declining in the previous month, latest official figures from the country's federal statistical office showed June 8.

According to provisional data released by Destatis, seasonally adjusted industrial output edged up 0.8% in April from a revised decrease of 0.1% in March.

Within the industrial sector, the production of capital goods and intermediate goods increased by 0.3% and 1.0%, respectively, in April. Consumer goods production fell by 0.7%.

Energy production climbed 5.7% while construction output fell 0.1%. Excluding energy and construction, overall industrial production was up 0.4% in April.
