BWXT Nuclear Energy to supply motors for Bruce Power reactors

BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada Inc. has won a C$34 million five-year contract to supply seven primary heat transport motors for Bruce Power LP in Ontario to extend the life of six of its reactors.

The BWX Technologies Inc. subsidiary will start working on the 11,000 horsepower motors immediately and will also manage, engineer and manufacture the motors. The first motor is scheduled to be delivered in mid-2018, according to an Aug. 2 release.
