BBVA Banco Continental SA aims to double its loan growth in 2017 from 2016 levels amid a more positive economic growth outlook, El Comercio reported, citing CEO Eduardo Torres Llosa.
The bank expects 2016's loan growth to end at about 5%.
The bank expects Peru's economy to grow 4% in 2017, with more investment in infrastructure and less in mining, which should increase demand for credit, Torres Llosa said.
BBVA Continental also expects its 2016 profits to be largely flat compared to 2015, although it sees an improvement in 2017.
The bank plans to use technology to serve its clients better in the future and, after launching new products such as contact-less cards in 2016, it plans to continue developing new products in 2017.
