Amazon Prime Video, STX Productions sign multiyear European output deal

Amazon.com Inc.'s Amazon Prime Video signed a multiyear, multiterritory deal with entertainment company STX Productions LLC, granting the streaming service exclusive rights to STX's movies in France, Deadline reported Jan. 15.

Prime Video will also be the exclusive subscription video-on-demand platform for STX films in the U.K. and Italy, with the entertainment company's titles going live on the streaming service starting April.

The agreement between the two companies will reportedly help STX grow its slate, which includes "Hustlers," "I Feel Pretty" and "Den of Thieves" in the U.K., where it directly distributes its content.

STX will continue to work with its preferred partners in Italian territory for other rights, including theatrical.
