Hanover Bancorp closes Chinatown Federal Savings Bank deal

Mineola, N.Y.-based Hanover Bancorp Inc. closed its acquisition of New York-based Chinatown Federal Savings Bank.

Chinatown Federal Savings Bank merged with and into Hanover Bancorp unit Hanover Community Bank, which is the surviving institution.

On a pro forma basis as of June 30, after giving effect to the purchase, Hanover Bancorp would have had total assets of about $833 million, total loans of approximately $710 million and total deposits of $624 million, according to a news release.
