Compass Group fiscal Q3 profit climbs 10.7% YOY

Compass Group PLC said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended June 30 came to 14 Great British pence per share, an increase from 13 pence per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was £226.8 million, an increase of 10.7% from £204.8 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 4.1% from 4.1% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 10.2% on an annual basis to £5.55 billion from £5.03 billion, and total operating expenses increased 10.2% from the prior-year period to £5.16 billion from £4.69 billion.

Reported net income grew 11.0% year over year to £272.9 million, or 16 pence per share, from £245.9 million, or 16 pence per share.
