Hyperion Q1 loss widens YOY

Hyperion S.A. said its normalized net income for the first quarter was a loss of 5 groszy per share, compared with a loss of 3 groszy per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of 1.7 million zlotys, compared with a loss of 343,130 zlotys in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin declined to negative 26.8% from negative 8.8% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 57.8% on an annual basis to 6.2 million zlotys from 3.9 million zlotys, and total operating expenses climbed 98.7% from the prior-year period to 7.9 million zlotys from 4.0 million zlotys.

Reported net income came to a loss of 2.6 million zlotys, or a loss of 8 groszy per share, compared to income of 982,000 zlotys, or 7 groszy per share, in the prior-year period.

As of May 20, US$1 was equivalent to 3.94 zlotys.
