First Bank Texas SSB converts to national bank, changes name

First Bank Texas SSB has converted to a national bank from a state thrift, effective Oct. 11, according to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency's website.

The Baird, Texas-based bank has also changed its name to First National Bank Baird.

The OCC received the application for the name and charter change on April 7; it was approved Aug. 31.

First National Bank Baird is a unit of First Baird Bancshares Inc.
