East Kentucky Power seeks bids for 2-year coal supply deal starting in 2017

is seeking term coal for delivery to Spurlock Power Station units 1 and 2.

EKPCissued an RFP on April 26 for contract deliveries of up to 50,000 tons of coal permonth beginning Jan. 1, 2017, for a term of up to two years. The utility said itwill consider all fuel options.

EKPCis seeking coal spec'd at a minimum 11,000 Btu/lb. and maximums of 15% ash and 7lbs. SO2/MMBtu.

The plantreceives coal by barge on the Ohio River at mile post 414.1 or by rail at CharlestonBottoms, Ky., via CSX Transportation Inc. or TTI Railroad.

Proposalsmust be submitted by 2 p.m. on May 31. They should be emailed to spurlock.proposal@ekpc.coopor sent by U.S. mail to Wes Kidd's attention at 4775 Lexington Road (40391), P.O.Box 707, Winchester, KY 40392-0707.
