Japan's seasonally adjusted all-industry activity index inched up 0.5% month over month to 106.3 in December 2017, following a 1.0% rise in November, data from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry showed.
Industrial production rose 2.9% to 106.5, construction industry activity was down 0.4% to 113.7, while the tertiary industry posted a 0.2% drop to 105.6.
For the fourth quarter, the all-industry activity index was up 0.7% to 105.6, after a 0.3% dip in the prior period.
