Cara Operations fiscal Q2 profit climbs 51.4% YOY

Recipe Unlimited Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended June 26 was 30 Canadian cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 35 cents per share.

EPS rose 44.2% year over year from 21 cents.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was C$15.9 million, a gain of 51.4% from C$10.5 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 17.3% from 13.0% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 10.0% year over year to C$89.0 million from C$80.9 million, and total operating expenses increased 5.4% from the prior-year period to C$62.7 million from C$59.5 million.

Reported net income grew 15.1% from the prior-year period to C$18.0 million, or 34 cents per share, from C$15.7 million, or 31 cents per share.
