Bursa Malaysia acquires remaining stake in derivatives unit for 164.7M ringgit

Bursa Malaysia Bhd. completed the acquisition of the remaining 25% stake in Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Bhd. that it did not own from CME Group Inc. for 164.7 million ringgit.

The price tag includes 162.5 million ringgit for a put option and an additional 2.2 million ringgit to CME Group Strategic Investments LLC through CME Group, according to a Dec. 6 release.

Following the acquisition, Bursa Malaysia Derivatives is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bursa Malaysia.

As of Dec. 6, US$1 was equivalent to 4.16 Malaysian ringgit.
