NTT Data fiscal Q3 profit falls YOY

NTT DATA Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, came to ¥11.10 per share, a decrease from ¥11.50 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥15.56 billion, a decrease from ¥16.12 billion in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 4.2% from 4.9% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 12.6% on an annual basis to ¥371.19 billion from ¥329.51 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 12.5% from the prior-year period to ¥344.61 billion from ¥306.43 billion.

Reported net income increased 5.2% year over year to ¥14.61 billion, or ¥10.42 per share, from ¥13.89 billion, or ¥9.90 per share.

As of Feb. 12, US$1 was equivalent to ¥118.90.
