U.S. House Ways and Means chairman says tax bill will be ready by spring

Kevin Brady, chairman of the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee, aims to move a tax bill forward by spring, Reuters reported, citing a Fox News interview.

According to the report, Brady told the host of a Fox News morning show that the committee had been working on a tax reform bill, in parallel with the healthcare bill that was pulled from the floor on March 24, and will continue to make improvements, with the goal of having the bill ready for the committee and the Senate by spring.

Brady aims to have the bill serve as a blueprint for President Donald Trump's tax reforms, instead of dealing with competing plans from the White House and the U.S. Treasury Department, Reuters reported.
