SECOM fiscal Q2 profit climbs 14.0% YOY

Secom Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 came to ¥87.76 per share, an increase of 14.0% from ¥76.97 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥19.15 billion, a gain of 14.0% from ¥16.80 billion in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin increased to 9.4% from 8.3% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue totaled ¥203.17 billion, compared with ¥201.68 billion in the year-earlier period, and total operating expenses totaled ¥173.30 billion, compared with ¥172.60 billion in the prior-year period.

Reported net income rose 11.4% from the prior-year period to ¥18.26 billion, or ¥83.68 per share, from ¥16.40 billion, or ¥75.15 per share.

As of Nov. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥116.46.
