S&P Global moving to 4 operating divisions, names execs

S&P Global Inc. will launch an integrated operating model, effective Jan. 1, 2018. The company will have four reporting divisions, instead of three.

Also, S&P Global appointed Nick Cafferillo as chief technology officer, Nate Haskins as chief data officer and Swamy Kocherlakota as chief information officer. S&P Global's current chief information officer Krishna Nathan will serve in an advisory role until the end of March 2018. Haskins will lead data operations and be responsible for developing and implementing a data strategy that supports each division's priorities.

The divisions will be S&P Global Ratings, a provider of credit risk research and benchmarks; S&P Global Market Intelligence, which provides financial and industry data, research, news and analytics to investment professionals and other clients; S&P Global Platts, which provides information and benchmark prices for the commodities and energy markets; and S&P Dow Jones Indices, which provides index-based concepts, data and research.

The company will also launch three operational services: S&P Global Engineering and Technology Innovation Services, S&P Global Data Operations, and S&P Global Digital Infrastructure.

S&P Global Engineering will focus on software engineering, product platforms development and technology innovation. S&P Global Data will offer workflow management and reporting, robotics and process automation, and external data sourcing. S&P Global Digital will oversee infrastructure and enterprise architecture, data centers, cloud strategy, and workplace services. Kocherlakota will lead S&P Global Digital.
