U.S. online grocery-delivery service Shipt on March 29 will begin same-day delivery of over 55,000 items from Target Corp. stores in Washington, D.C., and Baltimore, Shipt said March 15.
Shipt will hire 1,900 workers in the two cities to help with processing orders.
Target, a general merchandise retailer, aims to fulfill same-day deliveries of all major product categories by 2019-end, Shipt said.
Apart from groceries, the service will include home essentials, electronics, toys and other products.
