Report: Megyn Kelly snags $30M exit deal from NBC

Comcast Corp.'s NBCUniversal Media LLC reached a deal with host Megyn Kelly concerning the latter's exit from the network, which includes a $30 million payout, CNN reported, citing sources familiar with the matter.

The decision comes more than two months after Kelly's morning show was canceled, following her remarks on blackface Halloween costumes. NBC will honor Kelly's three-year, $69 million contract, the remainder of which totals $30 million, according to the report.

"The parties have resolved their differences, and Megyn Kelly is no longer an employee of NBC," Variety reported, citing a statement from NBC News. Kelly can now freely meet with other companies for possible employment following the absence of a no-compete clause in her contract.

A nondisparagement clause, however, will limit what Kelly can publicly share regarding her stint at NBC, which includes discussions with NBC executives, according to the report.
