Sika AG Q4 profit climbs 20.4% YOY

Sika AG said its normalized net income for the fourth quarter was CHF47.19 per share, a gain of 20.5% from CHF39.16 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was CHF119.8 million, an increase of 20.4% from CHF99.5 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 8.5% from 7.1% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed year over year to CHF1.42 billion from CHF1.39 billion, and total operating expenses totaled CHF1.21 billion, compared with CHF1.21 billion in the year-earlier period.

Reported net income increased 20.9% from the prior-year period to CHF147.6 million, or CHF58.17 per share, from CHF122.1 million, or CHF48.07 per share.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled CHF184.82 per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus normalized EPS estimate of CHF218.99.

EPS rose from CHF151.44 in the prior year.

Normalized net income was CHF469.2 million, a gain from CHF384.3 million in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue rose year over year to CHF5.75 billion from CHF5.49 billion, and total operating expenses rose on an annual basis to CHF4.95 billion from CHF4.81 billion.

The company said reported net income increased year over year to CHF563.1 million, or CHF221.81 per share, in the full year, from CHF460.3 million, or CHF181.37 per share.
