Skanska to build hydroelectric power plant in Norway

Skanska AB on Sept. 7 announced that it will build a hydroelectric generation facility in the Norwegian Tolga municipality in Hedmark for 582 million Norwegian kroner.

Skanska is building the project for Eidsiva Energi Vannkraft AS, on behalf of Opplandskraft.

Construction of the Tolga power facility is scheduled to begin in September 2018 and is expected to be completed in 2021. The project will generate 205 GWh annually, enough to power 10,000 households.

Skanska is a construction and project development company with operations in building construction and civil engineering in Sweden, Norway and Finland, and in developing residential and commercial property projects in select home markets.

Based in Hamar, Norway, Eidsiva Energi Vannkraft AS engages in electricity production and distribution, and operates as a subsidiary of Eidsiva Energi AS.

As of Sept. 7, US$1 was equivalent to 8.42814 Norwegian kroner.
