Amazon launches music streaming service in Brazil

Amazon.com Inc. launched its ad-free Amazon Music service in Brazil with two music streaming tiers.

Amazon Music Unlimited is available as an individual plan for 16.90 Brazilian reais per month or 169 reais per year.

The service's family plan option allows up to six members to use one subscription for 25.90 reais per month or 259 reais per year.

Amazon Prime members can stream over 2 million songs at no additional cost through the second tier, called Prime Music.

Subscribers of both tiers can stream various playlists on Amazon Music, such as Novidades, Explosão Funk, Ritmos Brasil and Bandeira Indie. Customers can also sign up for a free, three-month trial of Amazon Music Unlimited for a limited time.

As of Sept. 11, US$1 was equivalent to 4.06 Brazilian real.
